hope i can explain it clearly, cos my English is not good..
the monster in the artwork is a gravedigger from another world and the gate is connected with the humans world.. it lives in a creepy graveyard and it buries many things there..creatures and humans alike .. unfortunately..the monster loved a human girl, which she of coursed got scared of him and she refused him and ran away
in her wedding day, a disaster happens..the monster breaks through their party and kill her husband along with her..and then it takes the girl's corpse into his world.. and digs a grave for the girl while holding her roses with one hand and a digging axe with the other.. tho the grave digger is consumed with grieve it tied the little girl's hand with a balloon as sign of her innocence ..
and inside the gate.. the soul of the dead husband is crying over his corpse and the disaster that happened.. if the gravedigger didn't bury the corpses..the dead will transform within time into a creature that is shrunken on its self and its head is facing the ground in despair..also there is balloons over their necks as a sign of their innocence ..this obviously happens only in this weird world..
the gravedigger carries around small beings that is part of it ..and lives inside it and share its life ..
the fires around the gate is a symbol of the burning sorrows of the humans families.

About the art piece, the harsh lines and dark colors of the Gravedigger are a beautiful contrast with the soft lines and light colors of the bride. Love the ideas of the ballon representing innocence and the fire burning representing the sorrows of the deceased’s family. I thought that your portrayal of the soul of the husband crying over his OWN body captures the human nature at its most. I mean that he is mourning himself, or so I think from his position, and that is what humans when faced with death feel. I’m not saying he doesn’t care about his wife, but I think that his first reaction was about his own death. I love that you drew flowers around the girl while everything else in the picture is just dark and lifeless. So, to sum it all up, I LOVE IT!!! <(T^T<
